Flamenco de Jerez 2011 begins next week, Friday the 25th February. If you can't be there all is not lost... In May 2011 one the instructors will be dropping in on us in Australia for a series of workshops across three cities.This year we thought we would use the Flamenco de Jerez headline to simply run through a few of the performers and choreographers on the performance line-up in 2011.EDITORS NOTE: This article is still a work in progress... During 2003 she joined the Andrés Marín Company and in 2005 toured under the direction of Christina Hoyos with the Ballet Flamenco de Andalucía. Her first solo show premiered at Festival de Jerez in 2008.

Once directed by Antonio Gades, Javier has a long list of flamenco credits and is always looking for new ways to surpise his audiences. He is also conducting daily workshops at Jerez 2011 including an open Flamenco Choreography presentation/workshop in the performance schedule.

Going on to leading roles under the direction of Manolo Marín, Mario Maya and Javier Barón, She has danced along-side Israel Galván. In 2002 she began a career presenting her own shows.

Rosario graduated in Spanish Dance at the Seville Conservatory and from 1994 her professional career developed under the direction of Charo Cruz, Enrique el Extremeño, Manuela Carrasco, Antonio el Pipa and Mario Maya. She has performed with Miguel Poveda (cantaor), Israel Galván, Javier Barón, Javier Latorre. She has also toured extensively with Manuela Carrasco.

Performing at Festival de Jerez 2011 - Monday 7th MarchAdela Campallo'Horizonte'Along with her brother Rafael Campallo, Adela Campallo emerged from a family flamenco tradition performing in the family company, La Familia Campallo. She later trained under José Galván, Manolo Marín and performed with the companies of Antonio Canales, Javier Latorre and Farruquito. Adela Campallo also features in several audio/visual training DVDs including 'Ritmo Flamenco Rhythm'.

Compañía Belén Maya

'Tres'Belén Maya García was born in New York while her parents were on tour. She studied under Carmen Cortés, Paco Fernández, María Magdalena, Goyo Montero, Rosa Naranjo and Paco Romero. She performed in many tablaos and was directed by Mario Maya as a member of Compañía Andaluza de Danza. Belen later studied classical, modern and hindu dance. Australian flamencos will be very familiar with Belén Maya's silhouette on the cover of Carlos Saura's 'Flamenco.'

Choni Compañía Flamenca

'La gloria de mi mare'Chonci (Asunción Pérez) graduated from the Superior Music and Dance Conservatory of Seville and rounded her training under José Granero, Manolete, Eva Yerbabuena, Antonio Canales, Javier Barón, Javier Latorre, Israel Galván and José Antonio, to name just a few. She appears in Carlos Saura's film 'Flamenco' and has toured extensively outside of Spain. She has performed as a member of the Eva Yerbabuena Flamenco Ballet. Choni Compañía Flamenca was established in 2007.
