FLAMENCO MASTERCLASSES with Nasrine Rahmani

This December, we welcome back Flamenco artists direct from Spain, Latin Grammy nominees Diego Guerrero and Nasrine Rahmani, to Melbourne for a day of intense Flamenco Masterclasses and Workshops @ the Flamenco Performing Arts Studio.

BEGINNERS-INTERMEDIATE CAJÓN WORKSHOP with Nasrine Rahmani
In this class we will be looking at basic technique and learning some fun flamenco rhythms on the cajón including Rumbas and Bulerias.

Duration: 1.5 hours
Fee: $70.00 ($120 for two workshops/masterclasses, $180 for all three)

ADVANCED CAJÓN MASTERCLASS FOR MUSICIANS with Nasrine Rahmani
This class is aimed at people with some experience on the cajón. We will be moving quickly to cover as much advanced material as we can including insights into developing advanced cajón technique, enhancing your rhythmic vocabulary, incorporating the cajón in a set and improvising on the cajón.

Time: ‪3.00-4.30pm‬
Duration 1.5 hours
Fee: $70.00 ($120 for two workshops/masterclasses, $180 for all three)

NASRINE RAHMANI
Australian-born Nasrine Rahmani is currently recognised in Spain as the leading female reference for Flamenco percussionists and artists.  
Upon completing a Bachelor of Music Improvisation at the Victorian College of the Arts in Melbourne, she travelled numerous times to Cuba to further her studies on percussion. After coming in contact with local Flamenco musicians in Melbourne, she developed an interest in the cajón and moved to Spain. She has now been living and working for over a decade in Madrid, performing with most of the top Flamenco artists in the industry including Montse Cortes, Jorge Pardo, Josemi Carmona, Paquete, Alain Peréz, Antonio Serrano, Belén Lopez, Nino de los Reyes, Karen Lugo, Carlos y David de Jacoba, Caramelo de Cuba and many more artists. She has studied and performed with many of Spain's top cajón players including Piraña, Sabu Porrina, Ramon Porrina, Bandolero and Rubem Dantas, as well as touring and recording with Diego Guerrero as his main percussionist. She is also one of the main endorsers for leading Flamenco cajón makers "La Rosa Percussion".
